The city of Sanford, North Carolina is located directly in the middle of the Tar Heel State. It is the seat of government for Lee County and boasts a population of over 25,000 residents. Sanford is a historical town and is located exactly where the beaches of the Atlantic Coast comes in touch with the mountains and the Piedmont clay. Sanford is a well known industrial town. Another great thing about Sanford, North Carolina is its close proximity to larger metro areas such as Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro, and Fayetteville. Recently, Sanford has gone into the burgeoning Bio-tech industry with the additon of Wyeth Chemicals to Lee County and Sanford.
