The Shuckers Story
Everyone is always looking for that special place to dine…the one where you are treated like Norm from Cheers…"the one where everyone knows your name.” We all have ever-growing expectations of individual, personalized service. We want food that is made with the best ingredients, captures new and different flavors and all of that given at a reasonable price. We all want to be able to take our families to a place where children are treated special and the choices for their finicky needs will be plenty. We all want some place to kick back and relax with a cold beer after a hard day of work. We are in search of a place with live music without the nightclub scene. For all of these reasons and more, Shuckers Oyster Bar & Grill® was created.
In 2007, Kevin and Amy Marksberry of Wake Forest, NC created "the new Shuckers.” It's no mistake that Kevin is in the restaurant business. He comes from a long line of restaurateurs that ran high volume seafood restaurants in North Myrtle Beach, SC. It was at his dad's restaurant, Ship's Bounty, that Kevin got his start at a very early age. The business is in his blood. He knows great food and has a sincere passion to create incredible flavors that people can relate to.
