There's a song that says "I like calling North Carolina home." It's true, because most of our visitors become residents. Raleigh is a booming, yet calm and innovative city. With a very southern and traditional atmosphere, Raleigh stands out in several areas. If there's a sport, Raleigh has it! For football and basketball action there is no other than N.C. State University. The campus is right in the throbbing heart of Raleigh. The Carolina Hurricanes has brought the pride of hockey to the south. We take our hockey serious. The Carolina Hurricanes took the NHL by surprise when they won the Stanley Cup in 2006. Raleigh's Research Triangle Park is compared largely to Silicon Valley. This research park is composed of over 50 institutions ranging from state of the art audio equipment to ground breaking medicines and devices. Perhaps take a stroll in Raleigh's Midtown. It's a historic landmark of the history of Raleigh that is dedicated to many local owned business and quaint homes. Many new developments have been constructed to provide the ultimate living experience including grocery stores right in the same building a your condo. Night life couldn't be better. There is always something to do. Raleigh has several clubs to meet any needs. But before the lights go down, settle in the streets of downtown with the after five crowd. Live bands echo throughout Fayetteville St. for hours. So whether it's fresh vegetables from the Farmer's Market (both downtown and at North Hills shopping center) or if there's a need to hit the malls, Raleigh is the place to grab a tall sweet tea or lemonade, kick back, and enjoy.
